About the event
First in the series of "A Simple Life" journal making is creating the cover of your journal with textiles and embellishments by slow stitching your artwork. If you are curious about intuitive creating, love working with textiles and trinkets and want to explore fun ways to express yourself this workshop is for you!
What to bring
- Bring along a mixture of your small pieces of fabric including patterned, neutral and plain in the colours you envisage for your journal cover and that you are happy to tear apart ie old quilts, shirts and hand dyed fabrics that speak to you.
- Look for soft and pliable fabrics that will be pleasing to rework, treasured trinkets ie old buttons or broaches, the older the better, hand me downs, laces/ribbons/doilies you are happy to part with or we can supply you with a colour choice of fabric pieces and embellisment packs at a small cost.
What we provide
- Hand sewing basics ie one piece of backing fabric and threads.
- Available for you to use on the day: Scissors, needle and pins.

- Light morning tea provided.
The next stage/workshop in the "A Simple Life" journal making series will be putting together the journal cover and creating your signatures ready for embellishing. Date to be announced.
